Government Of India issued instructions on UDISE plus Data Updation and UDISE plus Data entry at udiseplus.gov.in to all the states across India.

All the states should upload and Up-dation of School Information, Teacher Information and Student Information from Pre-Primary to Class XII of all Schools / Junior Colleges under all Certain Managements on UDISE+ Portal.

Ministry of Education has given detailed instructions for the data entry process at different levels: school level, complex level, mandal level and district level.

The instructions cover the aspects of school profile, student information, teacher information, infrastructure details, data verification and validation.

The MoE specifies the roles and responsibilities of the headmasters, principals, cluster resource persons, mandal educational officers, district educational officers and other coordinators involved in the UDISE plus data entry process.

UDISE Plus Data Updation

HMs/ Principals of all Schools / Jr. Colleges under all Managements in the District to ensure for up-dation of data in UDISE plus Portal as per the schedule.

All the School heads should complete the upload and updation of School, teachers, students data on the UDISE plus portal as per the guidelines.

The Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE plus) is a database about Schools/Junior Colleges. The UDISE plus System collects information from all Schools & Junior Colleges under all managements imparting education from pre-primary to Class XII.

Unique Code is provided to the Schools / Junior Colleges under UDISE plus Portal in which information of School, Students and Teachers is available.

Accordingly School information, Students information and Teacher information has to be updated in UDISE plus Portal every year by all Schools and Junior Colleges.

Govt. of India is providing rankings to the states through Performance Grading Index based on the UDISE plus data which covers 520 points (52%) out of 1000 points.

UDISE Code

As per the instructions of Government of India, it is mandatory to have UDISE Code to all the Schools / Jr. Colleges providing Formal Education from Pre-Primary to XII classes and for collection of UDISE data, an option is provided to download the UDISE Data Capture Format by using school login of UDISE+ Portal.

Data Capture Format (DCF) contains previous year infrastructure details along with present Student info and Teacher info data. All the District Educational Officers should follow the steps to update the DATA of school, teachers, students on UDISE plus Portal.

UDISE Plus Data Updation Guidelines

(A) Update the data at School Level:

All Management Schools and Jr. Colleges have to submit UDISE+ information through online. 100% School Info, Student info, Teacher info, Non-Teaching staff information is to be updated on UDISE + Portal.

UDISE+ format contains previous year uploaded school information (2022-23) and updated student info, Teaching/Non-teaching staff information for the year 2023-24.

The School Headmasters / Principals shall fill and update the School Information, Student Information & Teacher Information by using School login on UDISE+ Portal and shall take printout of Data Capture Format for verification.

After verification of Data Capture Format, they have to update the modifications if any required and then take final print out from portal. The signed copy of this final printout has to be submitted to the School Complex HM.

Students information contains student wise details such as General Profile, Enrolment Profile and Facility Profile .

Teacher Info online application (Part-A, Part-B and Part-C) contains Teaching, Non-Teaching staff working on Regular / Contract basis etc.

Infrastructure details contains such as Classrooms, Toilets, Drinking water facility, Compound wall, Playground, Ramps, Electricity, Dual Desks, Science Lab, Library, Sports, Computers, Projectors, KYAN, TV, ROT etc.

All the information (School / College Information, Student Information & Teacher Information) provided in DCF on UDISE+ Portal has to be certified by the Headmaster/Principal.

If any deviation in the information provided in the DCF by the School Headmaster/ Principal, action will be initiated against the concerned as per rules.

(b) Update the data at Complex Level

Complex Headmasters and CRPs shall ensure that all the HM’s of Schools / Junior Colleges shall follow the above mentioned guidelines and submit the signed copy of DCF to them.

Complex Headmaster and Cluster Resource Person have to verify the information submitted by the concerned School headmaster/principals with the records/last year UDISE+ format.

Complex HM and Cluster Resource Persons have to physically visit the schools / Jr. Colleges to verify filled DCF by comparing last Year UDISE+ DCF format and actual position of School Information, Student Information and Teacher Information.

If any variation is noticed in DCF with respect to present status of School Information, Student Information and Teacher Information, the HMs/ Principals of Schools/ Colleges shall be guided to update the DCF in UDISE+ portal accordingly.

After ensuring correctness, Complex Headmaster and CRP have to certify by signing on UDISE+ DCF of concerned Schools/Jr. Colleges. If any discrepancy identified after verifying the UDISE+ DCF, action will be initiated against concerned.

(c) Update the data at Mandal Level

  • Mandal Educational Officers shall ensure that all the HM’s of Schools / Junior Colleges and Complex HMS shall follow the above mentioned guidelines by monitoring.
  • MEO of concerned Mandal is responsible for updating the School Information, Student Information and Teacher Information on UDISE+ portal by all Schools / Colleges under his / her jurisdiction.
  • 25% of Schools UDISE+ DCFs have to be verified by the MEO and submit the report in prescribed format to the district level in turn to state level by the District Officers.

(d) Update the data at Complex Level

DEOs shall ensure to see that the tasks at School Level, Complex Level and Mandal Level are attended by the HMS of all Schools / Junior Colleges, Complex HMS and the Mandal Educational Officers as per above guidelines.

Convergence meeting with Tribal Welfare, Social Welfare, Minority Welfare, BC Welfare and Intermediate Education shall be conducted at district level under the Chairmanship of the District Collector.

10% of schools have to be verified at the District Level covering all managements. District Planning & MIS Co-ordinator and Assistant Statistical Co-ordinator have to monitor the programme time to time to complete the data entry in time as per schedule.

APO / Technical Person who are involved in UDISE+ have to coordinate with Mandal MIS co-ordinators, Data Entry Operators to address the technical issues.

Regular review with MEOs, School Complex HMS, MIS Co-ordinators, Data Entry Operators, CRPs to be conducted from time to time to monitor the up-dation of UDISE information and uploading on the Portal.

The DEOs shall give strict instructions to the Headmasters/principals to fill up the correct data and School Complex Headmasters, MEOs to verify UDISE+ DCF.

To monitor up-dation of UDISE+ data at district level, all the Coordinators working under Samagra Shiksha shall be allotted in- charge of mandals.

After Completion of all the Schools / Colleges data entry, the declaration has to be submitted by the MEO by stating that all the Schools / Colleges available under his / her jurisdiction have been covered in UDISE+ 2023-24 and submitted correct information.
