How do I apply for FAFSA?

Go tofafsa.govand click on the aid year you will be attending TTUHSC El Paso.

What is the school code for the Health Sciences Center

The school code is042808for all of the Health Sciences Center locations.

How do I accept my financial aid award?
  • Log in to theWebRaider Portal.
  • Select the “MyTech - El Paso”tab
  • Click “Financial Aid Information"
  • Click “Award Information”
  • Select the correct aid year
  • Click “Accept Award Offer”
  • Select the desired awards and amounts
When is financial aid disbursed?

Disbursem*nts are scheduled to begin approximately 10 days prior to the first class day of each term. However, students must have completed all requirements which can include entrance counseling and promissory notes, and accepting financial aid award(s).

Why have my student loans not disbursed to pay my bill?

In order for student loans to disburse you must be registered at least 1/2 time (6 hours for undergraduates, and 5 hours for graduates). You must also have completed an Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note atstudentloans.gov. If you have met these requirements and still need assistance please contact our office at 915-215-5602.

When will I get my financial aid refund?

Student Business Services processes refunds within 24 to 48 hours of financial aid disbursem*nts. Once your refund is initiated, you should receive your check or direct deposit within 2-3 business days. If it has been longer than 2-3 business days please contact Student Business Services at 915-215-5680.

What is a 1098-T and where can I get one?

The 1098-T is a Tuition Payments Statement that institutions issue for the purpose of determining a student’s eligibility for the Hope and Lifetime Learning education tax credits. Clickhereto access your 1098-T.

Can I apply for an alternative or private loan?

A number of market rate loan programs are available to health profession students through the private sector. This information is neither an endorsem*nt of any program nor a complete listing of available programs. Verify the accuracy of the information with private loan program officials.

What is the tuition refund policy of TTUHSC El Paso?

Students that withdraw from TTUHSC El Paso may be eligible for a partial refund of tuition and fees paid for that semester. The refund policy can be viewed in its entirety by viewing the Student Financial Information onStudent Business Service's website.

How much am I eligible to borrow?

The amount you are eligible to borrow depends on a number of factors. First your "financial need" must be determined by your school. This is the result of the cost of attendance less your expected family contribution (calculated from your FAFSA) less any other financial aid you have been awarded. In addition, each loan program has limits to the amount you can borrow for an academic year. The first step in determining eligibility is to apply for financial aid, complete the FAFSA. From this information, the school will work with you to generate an award package specifically for you.

How can I make a change to my loan amounts?

How do I know if I have missing requirements?
  • Log in to theWeb Raider Portal.
  • Select the “MyTech - El Paso”tab
  • Click “Financial Aid Information"
  • Click "Documentation Requested and Submitted"
  • Click "Student Requirements"
  • Select the correct aid year.
  • Complete any Unsatisfied Requirements in "Required" status.
What if I do not have enough money to pay tuition?

A student can process an emergency loan. For more information email:elp.financialaid@ttuhsc.edu.

Can I return money?

You can return funds no later than 14 days after disbursem*nt. Go ontoWebRaider, click on Financial Aid, then click on Award Information for the aid year you want to return money for. Under the “Accept Award Offer” tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the request and the amount you would like to return. Once you see balance on Web Raider, pay balance with a credit card or e-check. Your funds will be returned to the lender.

Do I have to answer all FAFSA questions? ›
