Flamin' Hot | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Kimber Myers Crooked Marquee [Flamin' Hot] is not a slog, but it’s surprisingly bland for a movie about a snack that is supposed to be painfully spicy. Marja Loved it! Such a heartfelt and inspiring movies. Annie Gonzalez was amazing Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/23 Full Review Rick L I thoroughly enjoyed Flamin' Hot. We got to see a side of Latino culture not usually depicted and how it burst onto the American food scene, altering both forever. It was uplifting and thought provoking and definitely worth the time and money. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/06/23 Full Review Gareth D Funny, sweet, inspirational - pretty straight forward movie. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review JonNookI I'm on a journey to watch all of the 2024 Oscar nominations, and next up on my list was Flamin' Hot, a biopic about the man who invented Flamin' Hot Cheetos... Or at least says he did, as there is no real life evidence that he actually did create the famous snack, which makes this film not really a biopic but more of a fiction story that Richard Montañez (The main character) told everyone was true, which was enough for Searchlight Pictures to make a movie about him. For those reasons I had to lower it by a half star, as if it was a true story it would likely be a 2 1/2 star film. Flamin' Hot is a feel-good film that can be funny at times, but for the most part is just a boring film that feels like it goes on forever. This film is only 99 minutes long, but it felt like at least 130 minutes long because it was so slow and boring, and for the most part, wasn't very compelling. Overall, the movie is fine, and I bet there would be a lot of people out there that find it funny and engaging, but for me, it really didn't work. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Spike G A decent fun biopic. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review SkyRo P #MovieReview #Hulu #FlaminHotAfter delaying watching it for some time, I finally decided to give "Flamin Hot" a chance, especially upon learning that it was based on a true story. The film follows a Mexican man without a college or high school diploma, relying on street smarts and involvement in gangs and drug dealing. It delves into the creation of Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Flamin' Hot Popcorn, and Flamin' Hot Doritos.Despite minimal character development beyond the protagonist and Clarence, the storytelling sheds light on the struggles faced by the man due to his Mexican heritage. It's a light-hearted, comedic autobiography that manages to keep you engaged. While the supporting characters lack depth, they fulfill their roles adequately. Overall, I found it to be an intriguing watch, offering insights into the history of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. It's definitely worth checking out for a unique and educational viewing experience.
